Fukushima Hachimangu Shrine (105-1 Honmachi, Yame City, Fukuoka) will begin distributing a rainy season limited "Choju-Giga Goshuin" from June 6, 2026. The goshuin is printed on washi paper known for its soft, fluffy texture and depicts rain drops alongside characters from the classic Japanese illustrated scrolls, Choju-Giga.

Among the Choju-Giga characters splashing in the rain, Shiro-chan — the shrine's beloved Mameshiba (miniature Shiba Inu) — also makes a surprise appearance. The addition of the familiar mascot gives the design a playful, charming touch that fits naturally within the world of Choju-Giga.

The goshuin is also designed as an "experience-style" stamp intended for photography. Visitors can take photos with the washi goshuin in front of the hydrangea flowers blooming on the shrine grounds. The fibrous texture of the washi paper combined with soft natural light filtering through the trees creates an atmospheric, dream-like backdrop unique to the rainy season.

In recent years, Fukushima Hachimangu has drawn visitors from across Japan and abroad, spurred by seasonal limited-edition goshuin and its well-known "transparent omamori" (protective charm). Taiwanese tourists in particular have become a notable presence, with many visiting on both weekdays and weekends to receive goshuin and omamori at the shrine office.
