Izakaya Hopping in Oimachi, Tokyo: enjoy delicious drinks

This time, I went to Oimachi for a one-person barhopping tour! I was a little nervous at first because I was alone, but I really enjoyed it. Oimachi Station (大井町駅)

Arrived at Oimachi Station, let’s kick off the bar hopping adventure now! Hope you get to eat lots of good food.

Oimachi Station, located in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, is a station of JR East, Tokyu Corporation, and Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit. Access is convenient as it is only one train ride on the Rinkai Line from Shinjuku.

Noyaki (野焼)

The first izakaya is here: Noyaki. Conveniently located, it’s about a 2-minute walk from Oimachi Station.

The shop offers both table and counter seating, and in front of the counter seats, there is a showcase of fish!

The friendly and funny president of the restaurant encouraged me to order from the menu, which included such delicacies as simmered sea bream and tuna tail steak, both of which were extremely delicious.

Noyaki is a popular, long-established motsu-yaki izakaya shop located in Oi 1-chome, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. Conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from the station, the shop has both table and counter seating. In front of the counter seats is a showcase of fish.

Higashikoji Street (東小路飲食店街)

Higashi-koji Restaurant Street is a nostalgic side street located just outside the east exit of Oimachi Station.The narrow alleys are lined with dozens of restaurants and deep senbero stores.

My second stop on this hopping journey, ‘Niku no Maekawa,’ is also one of the shops in this street district!

– It took a bit of courage to enter such a hidden izakaya shop by myself, but I was right ✨

It is a bar attached to a delicatessen where you can enjoy side dishes and drinks, all of which are very inexpensive! This time I ate too much at the first restaurant and only had chashu (pork) for side dishes, but I would like to go back for a drink.

Niku no Maekawa is a ‘tachi-nomi’ style izakaya (standing style izakaya), located in Higashioi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. It is run by a butcher shop, so the meat dishes in particular are all excellent. The interior has a great atmosphere and there are no restrooms.
