About the TV Anime "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story"

"Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" is a classic with a cumulative 72 million copies sold in comic form and a cumulative box office of ¥19.3 billion for its live-action film series, earning support from fans around the world and across generations. It returned in 2023 as a new TV anime series.

The original manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1994, and its first TV anime followed in 1996. After many more adaptations, including OVAs and theatrical films, 『るろうに剣心 －明治剣客浪漫譚・北海道編－』 is currently serialized in "Jump SQ."

The new series rebuilds the original story from Episode 1 using the latest animation techniques, aiming to be a version of "Rurouni Kenshin" that also appeals to today's anime fans.

About 30 years after serialization began, the new TV anime brings the timeless, classic story and the characters' fierce convictions vividly back to the screen.
