Beard Papa Launches Kikyo Shingen Mochi Choux, a Cream Puff Inspired by Yamanashi's Renowned Confection

Cream puff specialty shop Beard Papa will begin selling the "Kikyo Shingen Mochi Choux" (桔梗信玄餅シュー) on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as a November-only item at Beard Papa locations nationwide. It is the first collaboration product between Beard Papa and Kikyoya (桔梗屋), headquartered in Fuefuki, Yamanashi Prefecture.

Developed under Kikyoya's supervision, the cream puff recreates the flavor of "Kikyo Shingen Mochi," a renowned confection from Yamanashi Prefecture. Mochi is placed on top of a crispy pie choux pastry and baked, and the shell is filled with a cream carrying the gentle sweetness of kuromitsu (Japanese black sugar syrup) and kinako (roasted soybean flour). A final dusting of fragrant kinako gives the cream puff a unified taste in which Japanese and Western flavors come together.

The dedicated red wrapping paper is decorated with a bellflower (kikyo) design, letting customers enjoy the world of Kikyo Shingen Mochi even before the first bite. The cream puff is offered both as a treat for yourself and as a small gift for someone special, with a flavor available only for a limited time.
