ALPSE Inc. (headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Haru Izumi) has announced that world-renowned football legend Andres Iniesta has been appointed as official ambassador for Captain Tsubasa: My Golden XI, a new smartphone game based on the globally popular soccer anime Captain Tsubasa (2018) and Captain Tsubasa Season 2: Junior Youth Arc.

Iniesta — once regarded as the world's greatest midfielder — grew up watching Captain Tsubasa from a young age. That personal connection to the series, combined with his deep respect for the work, made this special collaboration possible.

Raised in FC Barcelona's youth academy "La Masia," Iniesta went on to win 32 major titles with the senior team, including nine La Liga championships and four UEFA Champions League titles. He is widely considered one of the greatest midfielders in history.
In 2018, he made a high-profile move to J.League club Vissel Kobe. In 2019, captaining the team, he led Kobe to their first-ever Emperor's Cup victory — a historic achievement that left a lasting impact on Japanese football. After a stint with UAE club Emirates Club, he announced his retirement from professional football in October 2024.

Director Ryoto Tazawa's Comment
This commercial is based on the true story of how Iniesta watched Captain Tsubasa on TV as a child. It depicts him now as a coach, gazing at children who remind him of his younger self.
It is also a story of how the iconic Tsubasa Ozora has transcended generations and continues to inspire children around the world.
Filming took place in the UAE, where he played last. Despite the harsh heat, Iniesta naturally connected with the local children on set, and the shoot proceeded in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
For scenes like the "Twin Shot," his deep understanding of the source material — rooted in having grown up with the series — shone through as he brought them to life perfectly.
