Smilegate's self-published roguelike RPG Chaos Zero Nightmare, developed by SUPER CREATIVE, received an update on October 21 (Wednesday). It opens Galactic Disaster (銀河系災害) Season 5 "雪に交わした約束," adds the new Season fighter ロスヴァイセ, and brings content celebrating the game's 1st anniversary since its official release.
Galactic Disaster Season 5 "雪に交わした約束" Begins With a New Story and the New Chaos "天上の防壁"
Galactic Disaster Season 5 "雪に交わした約束" has begun, and Chapter 1 of the main story is now available.
In this story, the captain and crew, isolated by a disaster of unknown origin, arrive at a new Chaos called "天上の防壁" and set out on a new adventure.
As the story progresses, they meet new characters, including ロスヴァイセ, an apostle of the goddess of circulation キルケン, and the secrets surrounding another god, ディアロス, are gradually revealed.
A Supply Shop has also opened alongside the new Chaos "天上の防壁." Special currency earned by playing "天上の防壁" can be exchanged for a variety of rewards, including currency used to acquire characters and various growth materials.
New Season-Limited ★5 Fighter "ロスヴァイセ" Joins the Roster
ロスヴァイセ, a central figure in the Season 5 story, has been added as a new Season-limited ★5 fighter.
Belonging to the Striker class with the Justice attribute, ロスヴァイセ is a fighter whose character concept is that of an apostle who carries out the will of the goddess of circulation.
Her main card, "明滅の剣," is split into two cards, "明" (light) and "暗" (dark), which are placed at both ends of the hand. They interact with each other depending on the use of other cards to produce various effects, and when certain conditions are met, they merge into a single card that can trigger a powerful skill.
"トラウマコード," a dedicated content that lets players enjoy the story of ロスヴァイセ's past, has also been released at the same time.
New Systems Added, Including "Card Skins" and "Special Grade" Outfits
To mark the 1st anniversary of the official release, this update also adds new systems that reflect user feedback and improves convenience.
The newly added "Card Skins" feature lets players change the illustrations of the cards used by fighters. The system first appeared in a past April Fools' event, drew a strong response, and is now being officially introduced.
The outfit system, which lets players change a fighter's appearance, also gains a new Special Grade. Special Grade outfits change almost all of the target fighter's motions and card animations, and also come with dozens of exclusive voice lines.
Convenience Improvements Include the New "探査パッシブ" and "神ヒラメキ選択付与"
Partners, who are assigned to fighters, gain a new function called "探査パッシブ."
"探査パッシブ" gives the entire party advantageous effects when playing Chaos or sorties. ★4 partners have two types of buff effects and ★5 partners have three, further widening the ways partners can be used.
A new "神ヒラメキ選択付与" feature has also been added. When editing acquired save data, it lets players assign the "ヒラメキ" of any god of their choice to a card. This gives players more freedom to customize cards and enjoy a wider variety of strategies.
1st Anniversary Event "Nightmare Festival" (悪夢祭) Offers Up to 70 Free Gacha Pulls and More
To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the game's official release, a special event, the "Nightmare Festival" (悪夢祭), is being held through December 2 (Wednesday).
During the event, players receive 10 free gacha pulls per day, 70 in total. Simply logging in to the game also earns rewards such as ★5 fighter/partner selection tickets and 1,600 crystals.
Various other in-game events also offer further rewards, including currency used to acquire characters and special sticker items.
New Mini-Game "Nightmare Dream Park" and a Planned Social Contribution Campaign
A new mini-game, "Nightmare Dream Park" (ナイトメアドリームパーク), is being held for a limited time from October 21 (Wednesday) through December 23 (Wednesday).
In this event, players place various facilities in a "Dream Park" and develop it, earning revenue while raising the satisfaction of the fighters who visit.
Smilegate also plans to run an offline social contribution campaign linked to this event. The initiative aims to support children who have trouble getting enough to eat, connecting the in-game event with social contribution activities.
