ABEMA will hold the "Chiikawa Christmas Market" at Toyosuna Park in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, from Tuesday, November 24 to Friday, December 25, 2026.
The event is an immersive experience that lets visitors enjoy the world of Chiikawa as a Christmas market. Set in a spacious venue of about 6,000 m², it features a symbol tree about 6 m tall with a special show of light, video, and sound, along with a variety of photo spots. In addition to 35 original food items made exclusively for the event, original goods will be on sale, offering a special Christmas outing with the Chiikawa characters.
Six Highlights of the Chiikawa Christmas Market
1. A Christmas Experience With the Chiikawa Characters
At the venue entrance, a giant pop-up-style Christmas card and a wreath-style welcome gate shaped like Chiikawa greet visitors. The setting is designed as a warm, heartwarming space that feels like joining a Christmas party with the Chiikawa characters.
2. A Special Light, Video, and Sound Show Around a Symbol Tree About 6 m Tall
A giant Christmas tree about 6 m tall stands at the center of the venue. An original story in which the Chiikawa characters prepare for Christmas is presented through a special show that combines light, video, and sound. Sparkling illuminations and snowfall-like effects make for a special Christmas experience unique to this event.
3. Christmas-Themed Photo Spots
Photo spots include the symbol tree, giant balloons of Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi that stand about 3 m tall, a snow globe, and a moving merry-go-round depicting the Chiikawa characters having fun. Visitors can capture memories of the Chiikawa Christmas Market at various spots throughout the venue.
Note: The merry-go-round is a photo spot for viewing and photographing, not a ride attraction.
4. A Limited Food Market With 35 Items Inspired by the World of Chiikawa
The food market features Christmas huts in the style of a traditional Christmas market. Limited original food, desserts, drinks, and more inspired by the world of Chiikawa are planned for sale.
The lineup of 35 playful-looking items includes "Hot Cocoa With Melting Cream" (とろけるクリームのほっとココア), "Subjugation Churros" (討伐チュロス), "Hachiware's Christmas Wreath Doughnut" (ハチワレのクリスマスリースドーナツ), and "Usagi's Pistachio Mont Blanc" (うさぎのピスタチオモンブラン). The food keeps visitors warm in body and spirit at the winter venue.

5. Limited Original Goods
A special goods area sells limited original goods that let visitors take home memories of the Chiikawa Christmas Market. Many items are planned, including a Santa-themed mascot, plush toys, a snow globe, and a moving Christmas card set, all for enjoying the Christmas season with the Chiikawa characters.

6. Plenty of Interactive Games
The venue plans to offer "Yoroi-san Market" (鎧さんマーケット), where visitors can combine their favorite parts to make an original key charm.
Other interactive activities for all ages include "Candy Ring Toss," where players throw rings to decorate a tree with candy, and "Cookie Weighing Challenge," where players try to pack cookies to a specified weight.

Tickets are scheduled to be sold with a designated date and time. Ticket holders receive a "Pop-Up Christmas Card!" (飛び出す！クリスマスカード). They can also pull a giant gacha machine installed in the venue once for free and receive one randomly selected ornament out of 16 types.

About Chiikawa
Chiikawa is a manga series by illustrator Nagano that began on X (formerly Twitter). It tells the fun, sometimes bittersweet, and slightly tough daily stories of the always-trying-hard Chiikawa and a cast of distinctive characters, including friends Hachiware and Usagi. The series is popular with people of all ages, and its X account has surpassed 5.37 million followers (as of September 2, 2026).
Chiikawa won the Grand Prix at the Japan Character Awards 2022, 2024, and 2025, and again at the Japan Character Awards 2026, announced in June 2026.
The Chiikawa anime airs on "Mezamashi TV" (Fuji TV network, 5:25 AM to 9:00 AM) every Tuesday and Friday at around 7:40 AM. After each broadcast, episodes are available for one week on YouTube, TVer, and FOD.
Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island (映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ) has been in theaters since Friday, July 24, 2026.
