The Dragon Quest Island attraction at Nijigen no Mori—an anime park on Awaji Island—has launched its remake, Dragon Quest Island: The Ancient Genie and the Guided Adventurers, from April 24, 2026 (Friday). The revival marks the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Quest series and the 5th anniversary of the Dragon Quest Island attraction.

② Two Sub-Quests to Tackle
To commemorate the attraction's return, a new sub-quest titled "Prince from a Foreign Land and the Mysterious Stone Slabs" is now available alongside the previously offered revival sub-quest "Kandata's Mischief Operation: Take On the Challenge!" Visitors holding a Gold or Premium Ticket can choose one of the two to experience.
① New Sub-Quest: "Prince from a Foreign Land and the Mysterious Stone Slabs"
This sub-quest intersects the world of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined with the Sky Series storyline at the heart of the main quest. Before entering, adventurers choose one of three stone slabs—yellow, blue, or red—and then collect the remaining pieces within the attraction area. Once assembled, the slab's power transports adventurers to a new world.
② Revival Sub-Quest: "Kandata's Mischief Operation: Take On the Challenge!"
This sub-quest delves into the surprising backstory of Kandata, one of the Dragon Quest series' most recognizable characters. Adventurers explore the world of Onokogard on foot to unravel a hidden story.
Participation: Available exclusively to visitors who purchase a Gold or Premium Ticket. Sub-quests are not sold separately.
③ Dragon Quest Island 5th Anniversary Events
Special events for all ages run inside the attraction area from April 17 (Friday) through July 13 (Monday) to celebrate the attraction's 5th anniversary, which falls on May 15.
Pre-Purchase Ticket Bonus (April 17 – July 13)
Adventurers who purchase their attraction entry ticket in advance through the Nijigen no Mori official website will receive one randomly selected sticker from three newly illustrated designs.
④ 5th Anniversary and New Sub-Quest Merchandise
Six new original items go on sale to mark both the attraction's 5th anniversary and the launch of the new sub-quest. The 5th Anniversary Goods lineup includes a clear file and an acrylic diorama featuring the anniversary key visual. The New Sub-Quest Goods lineup includes acrylic stands and acrylic keychains featuring the newly designed Homirot characters from the sub-quest. All items are exclusive to Nijigen no Mori's Dragon Quest Island.
⑤ Opening Event: Kandata Greeting in Dragon Quest Island
On the re-launch day, Kandata—boss of the Kandata Gang—appears at Onokogard for a special greeting event. Visitors can take commemorative photos with Kandata and experience the immersive atmosphere of the Dragon Quest world. Kandata may also make a surprise appearance somewhere in the area at 11:00 AM, adding an element of unpredictability to the day.

How to Participate: On April 24 (Friday), numbered tickets will be distributed at the Dragon Quest Island reception to visitors who hold any attraction entry ticket (Light, Gold, Premium, or combo tickets), on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants should gather at the time noted on their numbered ticket. One numbered ticket is issued per group regardless of group size, and the entire group should be present when participating.
