EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 Surpasses 1 Million Players Worldwide

D3 Publisher has announced that EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6, the 3D action shooting game for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and PC, has surpassed 1 million total players worldwide. The milestone counts the cumulative number of physical copies shipped in Japan, digital sales globally (including players via the PlayStation®Plus game catalog), and PC (Steam/Epic Games Store) sales.

The title has been well received not only in Japan but also by EDF series fans and gamers around the world. Since the Japanese PS5/PS4 release in August 2022, the game has continued to expand across regions and platforms, with new recruits joining the EDF ranks even three and a half years after its initial launch.

In the previous entry, EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5, humanity narrowly repelled a sudden invasion by an unknown enemy after nearly two years of relentless battle. What remained was a harsh reality: nine-tenths of the global population lost, and civilization itself on the brink of collapse.

The EDF and humanity fought back against fate and prevailed — yet the future that awaited them was far from a world filled with the hope of rebuilding. Can humanity overcome despair once more and defy its fate?

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6, the latest numbered entry in the series, features the largest mission count and weapon/armament selection in series history. All missions support online co-op play for up to 4 players, and offline co-op via split-screen is also available.
