Pixel Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Sendai; President: Hidekuni Sasaki) has unveiled a new key visual for HORGIHUGH, a shooting game for Nintendo Switch set to launch on October 22, 2026 (Thursday).
All the Stage Bosses Assembled
Behind protagonists Hugh and Figaro, along with key figures Dr. Howard and Angela, the bosses of each stage are depicted in striking detail in the new key visual.
Stage 1 boss, Portalus
Comparing the artwork with the in-game graphics reveals a range of expressions to enjoy, and several characters are getting illustrated for the first time.
The bosses that have appeared so far also return with new algorithms in this release. Charming yet formidable, the full lineup of HORGIHUGH's bosses awaits players in the game itself.

New Screenshots Revealed
Alongside a fully renewed soundtrack by Saki Hayashi and TECHNOuchi, each stage's graphics, along with raster scroll effects and lighting, have been significantly upgraded. Built around pixel art, the visuals carry a retro-game atmosphere while offering a distinctly different feel from typical retro titles.

About HORGIHUGH
"Horgi" refers to a mixed-breed dog of Husky and Corgi. Protagonist Hugh is modeled after Hyuga, a real dog who lived in Iitate Village, Fukushima Prefecture, whose owners were forced to evacuate following the Great East Japan Earthquake and the resulting nuclear accident. The game's other characters are likewise modeled after real animals.
The game includes a mode for rebuilding the town, and the town's name, "Eterday," is an anagram of "Iitate."
HORGIHUGH was born from the connections and bonds formed in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, carried forward by the thoughts of the many people involved.
Pre-Orders Now Open Nationwide
Ahead of the October 22 release, both the standard and limited special editions are available for pre-order at electronics retailers and game shops nationwide, as well as through the Pixel official web shop, where pre-orders come with an exclusive costume jacket as a bonus.
