Graphic artist Koichi Yairi's original character Mooney the Ghost is teaming up with Japanese soft vinyl figure brand Gokkodo for a limited run of 100 sofubi figures1, going on sale through ZOZOVILLA and the Nakano Broadway toy store ROBOTROBOT. Starting July 13 (Monday), 80 figures will be available via lottery at ZOZOVILLA, while 20 figures go on early sale2 at ROBOTROBOT over two days, July 11 (Saturday) and July 12 (Sunday).
Mooney the Ghost is an art series that expresses Yairi's concept of "the importance of seeing things from many different perspectives" through the story of its protagonist, Mooney. This release is a single sofubi design brought to life by Gokkodo with a nostalgic yet modern look. The set includes a capsule-shaped Mooney figure and a removable ghost body. Each package carries a serial number handwritten by Yairi himself*3.

Comment from Koichi Yairi
Sofubi is a culture rooted in Japan — a toy that's familiar to the general public, yet also valued as a collectible.
I wanted to bring a different kind of appeal by expressing art, a field that can feel a little inaccessible, through toy culture. I hope people enjoy how the ghost I usually draw has been reshaped into a form unique to sofubi.
