The Full Scope of Muramasa: Revenant Blades' Evolved Game Systems

A new trailer released today offers a complete look at the game's systems refined from the original title, along with its new modes, showing off the full appeal of Muramasa: Revenant Blades.
Six Tales Unfolding in a World of Yokai

Set in a Genroku-era Japan overrun by yokai, six protagonists — each with their own circumstances and goals — weave their own stories. Among them are one entranced by the demon blade Muramasa, one who has sworn to avenge their master, and another consumed by love. Since each story stands on its own, players are free to experience them in any order they like. Six tales unfold across this world of yokai for players to fully enjoy.
Details on each protagonist and their story are available on the official site.
Intuitive Controls for Exhilarating, Elegant Swordplay

Chaining ordinary attacks flows naturally into combos, and combining dashes and jumps lets players roam freely across the ground and air for exhilarating battles.
The same button used to attack can also parry an enemy's attack, and with the right timing, players can even deflect ranged attacks. The controls are simple yet deep, letting anyone pull off elegant swordplay.

The key to battle is the "Secret Art" system. Powerful single strikes, wide-area attacks, ranged attacks, and other varied techniques can all be unleashed with a single button. Combined with ordinary attacks, they let players overwhelm enemies with an unbroken chain of blows.
Forge Blades, Hone Skills, and Create Your Own Fighting Style

Kisuke and Momohime can borrow the power of the swordsmith Muramasa to "forge" new blades imbued with fresh Secret Arts. Okoi, Gonbei, Arashimaru, and Rajaki can instead "train" to learn new skills or craft talismans that grant effects to their appearance and weapons.
Repeated forging and training yields more blades and Secret Arts and raises stats, making characters steadily stronger. Since "souls" gathered from enemies are needed for this, players should collect them diligently along the way.

In this title, learning Secret Arts and freely swapping them between slots expands players' tactical options.
Kisuke and Momohime can "master" a Secret Art by fighting battles while equipped with the blade that holds it.
Mastered Secret Arts can be registered in three ground slots and three air slots each, and combining them with directional inputs lets players freely switch between them in battle. Using a Secret Art repeatedly also raises its proficiency, improving its performance. Players can study each Secret Art's performance and role to create their own unique combinations.
Unwind with Hidden Hot Springs and Local Delicacies Along the Way

Each region is packed with detours to add color to the journey. Players can soothe their fatigue at a hot spring with a breathtaking view, stop by an eatery to restore their energy, or head out fishing to earn some coin. Relax and unwind, and turn it into strength for the battles ahead.
Showing a palanquin bearer a map will have them carry players to their desired destination, making for a more comfortable journey when put to good use.
Bonus Content to Deepen the Experience, and a New Mode for Fans of the Original

The game includes a range of bonus content to appreciate at leisure: an "Art Scroll" featuring numerous illustrations, a "Gallery" for taking a closer look at character animations and backgrounds, and "Recollections" that let players revisit events from along their journey.
Players can look back on the memories of their journey and savor the world of Muramasa: Revenant Blades to the fullest.

The PlayStation®Vita versions of Oboro Muramasa and Genroku Kaikitan are also included as a "Classic Mode," keeping the original game systems intact while upgrading only the graphics to high definition.
Players can enjoy these nostalgic adventures reborn in beautiful visuals, while the original gameplay feel remains unchanged.
