The "New Paperback Edition Decorative Box Set" commemorating 30 years since the completion of Noriko Ogiwara's The Jade Trilogy, a leading work of Japanese fantasy, is now on sale at bookstores nationwide. Following a strong response, an additional print run has been decided.

The Jade Trilogy by Noriko Ogiwara is a story told across three works: 『空色勾玉』, 『白鳥異伝』, and 『薄紅天女』.
Those who take hold of the mysterious magatama (comma-shaped beads) left on earth by the goddess of "Darkness" follow strange fates. This linked fantasy series about the clans of "Light" and "Darkness" has been read across generations.
Additional Print Run Decided Before the Release Date
Orders poured in immediately after the New Paperback Edition Decorative Box Set was announced, and the set drew a big response, mainly on social media. An additional print run was decided before the set even went on sale.
In response to the many requests, the set is now also handled at bookstores nationwide. The set can be purchased at bookstores across the country from around late October. If a store does not have the set in stock, it can also be ordered at a nearby bookstore.
About the 30th Anniversary Decorative Box Set
The Jade Trilogy, made up of 『空色勾玉』, 『白鳥異伝』, and 『薄紅天女』, was completed in 1996 and marks the 30th anniversary of that completion this year.
The commemorative set holds all five volumes of the new paperback edition in a special decorative box. The box pattern is based on the kimono design worn by Saya, the protagonist of 『空色勾玉』. A special postcard using the cover illustrations of the hardcover editions (illustrated by Hiroshi Ito) is also enclosed.
The set is recommended both for longtime fans and for readers who are meeting The Jade Trilogy for the first time.

About the Author: Noriko Ogiwara
Noriko Ogiwara was born in Tokyo in 1959. She graduated from the School of Education at Waseda University and made her debut in 1988 with 『空色勾玉』. She became a leading writer of fantasy set in Japan, and her works have also been translated and published in the United States, where they drew attention.
Her other works include the 「西の善き魔女」 series, the 「RDG レッドデータガール」 series, and the 「エチュード 春一番」 series (all published by KADOKAWA), as well as the 「荻原規子の源氏物語」 series (Rironsha). Her works also include 『風神秘抄』, which won four awards (the Shogakukan Children's Publishing Culture Award, the Sankei Children's Publishing Culture Award JR Prize, the Japanese Association of Writers for Children Award, and the IBBY Honour List in the writing category), and 『あまねく神竜住まう国』 (both published by Tokuma Shoten). Her essays include 『もうひとつの空の飛び方』 (KADOKAWA) and 『グリフィンとお茶を』 (Tokuma Shoten).
