Pia Corporation will release "Patlabor Shiba Shigeo Pia" on August 5, 2026, the latest volume in its Patlabor character magazine series, timed to celebrate Patlabor EZY.
A Magazine Dedicated to Shigeo Shiba
Patlabor EZY has generated plenty of buzz since it was first announced, with File 1 released on May 15, 2026. File 2 is set to open on August 14, and File 3 will follow in March 2027. After previously publishing "Noa Izumi Pia" and "Kiichi Gotoh Pia," this new volume finally puts maintenance chief Shigeo Shiba in the spotlight.
The cover features a new illustration of Shiba drawn exclusively for this magazine by Akemi Takada. To mark the release of Patlabor EZY, the issue also comes with postcards featuring the cover art from the earlier "Noa Izumi Pia" and "Kiichi Gotoh Pia" volumes, plus a bonus A3 poster designed around Shiba's memorable scenes and quotes.
Inside, the magazine covers the latest Patlabor EZY updates alongside an in-depth look at Shiba's appeal, including his standout scenes, quotes, and a story playback. It also includes interviews with Shigeru Chiba, who voices Shiba, and Yutaka Izubuchi, who directs Patlabor EZY.
To celebrate the release of "Shiba Shigeo Pia," the previously out-of-print "Noa Izumi Pia" and "Kiichi Gotoh Pia" will also return as e-books, giving fans a chance to enjoy them alongside Patlabor EZY.
