SESAME STREET MARKET — the world's only official Sesame Street store combining retail, café, and workshop experiences — is adding a new "Classic Donut Series" to its menu starting June 11, 2026. The series will be available at four locations: Ikebukuro Sunshine City, Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu, Hanshin Umeda Main Store, and Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C.
The new series joins the store's popular Elmo and Cookie Monster character donuts, which have been customer favorites since the store first opened. While keeping the familiar character shapes, the Classic Donut Series puts the focus on the quality and flavor of the dough itself — a simpler, more satisfying approach that highlights the pastry's natural taste and texture.
All donuts are handmade in-store from scratch. The fluffy, chewy texture is achieved through a proprietary blend of carefully selected flour, sugar, and yeast, with fermentation time adjusted daily based on the dough's condition — ensuring a consistently light and tender bite every time.
In the Classic Donut Series, the Elmo donut is finished with a honey lemon glaze that brings a refreshing, bright tartness to each bite. The Cookie Monster donut is coated in a coconut milk glaze, offering a gently sweet, mellow flavor that keeps things interesting through to the very last bite. Both donuts are finished with the character names — "ELMO" and "COOKIE MONSTER" — written in sugar powder, adding a playful touch to the otherwise simple presentation.
