Sleepy Tofu Japan K.K., which operates the Taiwan-born bedding brand SLEEPY TOFU, is releasing クールケット, a duvet that feels cool to the touch on both its front and back. From July 2026, it will be available through the SLEEPY TOFU official online store and the flagship store "SLEEPY TOFU HOUSE" in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, priced at ¥17,800 (tax included).
The instant coolness felt on contact is measured by a Q-Max value of 0.515, among the highest in the industry, keeping the duvet cool through the night even as sleepers turn over.

Born in a Hot Country, Built Around Real Coolness
SLEEPY TOFU was born in Taiwan, one of the world's hottest and most humid countries. Drawing on years of experience getting through hot, humid nights comfortably, the brand poured that knowledge into クールケット. With cooling technology on both sides, the goal was a duvet that stays genuinely cool all night long.
"For those of us living in a hot country, sleeping cool has always been something we think about constantly. As Japanese summers grow more intense every year, we wanted to bring this duvet to people here first," says 張育豪, CEO of Sleepy Tofu Japan.

1. Cool and smooth to the touch (Q-Max 0.515)
The Q-Max value, which measures the amount of heat transferred the instant skin touches the fabric, comes in at 0.515, among the highest in the industry. A densely knitted proprietary fabric combines that coolness with a smooth feel.
2. "Dual-sided cooling" — cool on both the front and back
High-tech cooling material is used on both faces of the fabric, doubling the cool-to-the-touch surface area compared with single-sided designs. Whichever side touches the skin after turning over in sleep, it stays cool, keeping the duvet comfortable until morning.
3. Washable, resists sagging, and resists pilling
Because the cooling performance is built into the fibers themselves, the duvet can be machine washed. Its lattice quilting also helps it resist sagging, and it scored well in third-party pilling tests for resisting the formation of lint balls.
4. Nano-level zinc oxide (ZnO) woven throughout
Zinc oxide (ZnO) is evenly distributed through each individual fiber, suppressing bacterial activity and growth. The effect holds up well even after repeated washing, keeping the duvet clean over time.

The Q-Max value measuring the amount of heat transferred the instant the fabric is touched comes in at 0.515 — the higher this number, the stronger the sensation of coolness, and it places クールケット among the top tier in the industry. Its aim was to combine that coolness with a smooth feel: a proprietary weave of 90% nylon and 10% stretch fiber, densely knitted, creates a silky-smooth texture, so that the moment you lie down, it feels like being wrapped in a cool breeze. It's gentle on the skin, making it comfortable to use even with children.

The duvet is designed with "dual-sided cooling," meaning both the front and back feel cool to the touch. With a conventional duvet that uses cooling material on only one side, turning over in your sleep can bring the non-cooling side into contact with your skin. クールケット instead uses high-tech material on both faces, doubling the cool-to-the-touch surface area compared with a single-sided design. Durable, with Coolness That Lasts
The comfort of クールケット comes from the properties of the fiber itself. Because the cooling effect is built into the fiber rather than relying on a surface treatment such as mineral powder, it holds up well through repeated washing and can be machine washed, including low-temperature drying up to 40°C. In third-party pilling tests, the fabric earned a high rating of "grade 4-5 (resistant to pilling)"* and uses a classic lattice quilting pattern that resists sagging. Nano-level zinc oxide (ZnO) is also evenly distributed through each individual fiber, suppressing bacterial activity and growth.
