A new trading card store, SNKRDUNK Trading Card Akihabara Annex (スニダントレカ秋葉原店別館), opens in Akihabara, Tokyo, on Friday, November 6, 2026. It is the second Akihabara store of SNKRDUNK (スニダン), a service operated by SODA, Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo).
Why a Second Store
SNKRDUNK's first trading card specialty store, SNKRDUNK Trading Card Akihabara (スニダントレカ秋葉原店), has drawn many visitors from Japan and overseas since opening in 2023. Monthly visitors in September 2026 were about three times the number in September 2025, according to the company's own survey.
Japan's trading card market has also kept growing, reaching about ¥338.4 billion in fiscal 2025 according to the Japan Toy Association's 2025 toy market size survey. In response to this rising demand, the company decided to open the annex to expand its product selection and offer a more comfortable shopping environment.
What to Expect
The annex focuses on the Pokémon Card Game and stocks products that have been authenticated. The lineup includes:
- Several hundred varieties of PSA-graded items, which are popular in Japan and overseas
- A wide range of boxes, from hard-to-find popular boxes to more affordable ones
The store is designed so that products are easy to see and choose from, aiming to suit everyone from collectors to casual shoppers.
