Four 1980s Sunsoft Classics Return on Modern Hardware

The second entry in the SUNSOFT is Back! Retro Game Selection series collects some of the earliest Famicom titles from SUNSOFT's debut on home consoles in the 1980s. This release adds convenient save and rewind features that weren't available back then, making the games easier to enjoy today.

A Gallery Mode is also included, letting players view rare original artwork and flyers from the era that can't be seen anywhere else.

The Four Included Titles
Ikki
There's even a theory that this was the world's first game ever called a "kusoge" (a so-bad-it's-good game), and now this comedic action title is finally playable again on modern hardware. Village youth Gonbe can no longer bear the crushing rice tax and rises up in revolt. Gather every coin and rice ball you can find and catch the corrupt magistrate — even in the Reiwa era, it's time for Ikki!

The Mystery of Atlantis
One day, the mysterious island of Atlantis suddenly rises from the sea. Wynn, the protagonist, sets out for the island in search of his master, who went missing there. It's a high-difficulty action game boasting a massive 100 stages in total. Anyone who couldn't clear it back in the day can use the save and rewind features to finally unravel the mystery of Atlantis. This release also makes it possible to reach stages that were unreachable through normal means on the original Famicom version — 40 years later, new mysteries await.

Super Arabian
Released in 1985, this was SUNSOFT's first game for home consoles. In this action game full of Showa-era flavor, Arabian sets off on a journey to save a kidnapped princess. Knock down enemies as you collect every magic pot scattered around the stage — take down a group of enemies at once and Arabian becomes invincible.

Maharaja
Released in 1989, this adventure RPG is a hidden gem that even devoted SUNSOFT fans may not know. More than 30 years after its original Famicom release, it's finally being ported to a home console for the first time. While traveling in India, you come across a mysterious wooden box that the Maharaja has been searching for. That discovery draws you into a conflict that will decide the fate of the world.
