About the Anime
TV anime The Ramparts of Ice is based on the massively popular manga by 阿賀沢紅茶, which has surpassed 190 million cumulative views on LINE Manga (as of end of May 2026) and has sold over 2.8 million copies of the comics (including digital editions, published by Shueisha Jump Comics, as of end of May 2026).
The story follows high school student Koyuki Hikawa, who struggles to connect with others and builds walls between herself and those around her. Apart from her childhood friend Miki Azumi, she keeps to herself and quietly goes about her days — until a boy named Minato Amemiya begins relentlessly closing the distance between them.
Koyuki, a solitary girl; Miki, the school idol; Minato, a boy with no concept of personal space; and the gentle basketball club member Yota. Awkward, frustrating, yet endearing — it's a youth story full of missed connections and tangled feelings.
The Ramparts of Ice airs every Thursday at 11:56 PM on TBS and 28 affiliated stations nationwide. It is also available for streaming on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, U-NEXT, and more.
