ABEMA is celebrating April 8, 2026 — the birthday of Panda, the Ham-Hams' skilled carpenter from the beloved Heisei-era anime Tottoko Hamtaro — with a free non-stop broadcast of all 103 episodes of the second TV series, Tottoko Hamtaro Ham Ham Paradichu!, beginning at 6:30 AM on the same day.
Tottoko Hamtaro first aired in July 2000 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. The series follows Hamtaro, a hamster with the ability to understand human feelings, and his owner Roco. Hamtaro and his group of hamster friends — the Ham-Hams — go on adventures to all sorts of places, getting into comical and heartfelt situations along the way. Catchy songs like "Hamtaro Tottoko Uta" and "200% no Jumon," as well as the Ham-Hams' unique dialect including phrases like "heke," became a widespread craze among children of the era. The franchise has maintained a loyal fanbase to this day, and in addition to the TV series, theatrical films and OVAs were also produced.
