Zojirushi is adding a compact, 200mL Stainless Steel Soup Jar (SW-NA20) to its lineup on September 1, 2026, designed to be easy to carry while still keeping food hot — an easy extra dish to bring alongside a bento at lunchtime.

Zojirushi's soup jar lineup has so far focused on larger sizes built around lunches where the soup jar itself is the main dish, such as chunky soups or curries. But for anyone who just wants to add a little miso soup or soup alongside a bento, those larger jars could feel oversized and bulky to carry in a bag.
The new model settles on a capacity of 200mL, based on the fact that a typical bowl of miso soup or a serving of instant soup generally runs to about 150 to 200mL.
Temperature retention got just as much attention: people tend to find food most enjoyable at around 60°C to 70°C, according to 『最新 調理 ―基礎と応用―』（高木節子・加田静子）. Simply shrinking the capacity would normally make a container cool down faster, so the jar uses Zojirushi's proprietary "Thermo Ring" structure, which curbs heat loss from the mouth of the jar and keeps its heat retention effect above 62°C even six hours later.
Compact enough to tuck into the gaps of a bag while still holding heat well, this is Zojirushi's first 200mL stainless steel soup jar, designed to bring a warm "extra dish" to lunchtime.
