During the day, it is lively with people coming for sightseeing and strolls, but in the evening the garden's opening hours are limited, and the surrounding area also takes on a relatively calm atmosphere. The neighborhood is largely residential, so there are no large entertainment or drinking districts, but if you walk to nearby Komagome or Sugamo stations, you'll find areas with clusters of izakayas and restaurants. Around Komagome Station in particular, there are small izakayas and bars frequented by locals, offering a relaxed setting to enjoy food and drinks. While the options for bar hopping are limited, the area is well-suited for those who prefer to unwind at a single place after sightseeing. The Rikugien Garden area is recommended for anyone who wishes to enjoy the beauty of nature during the day and a quiet dining or drinking experience in the evening.
