・Asahikawa is home to Sanroku-gai, the largest entertainment district in the Northern Hokkaido area. With around 1,000 establishments including snack bars, izakayas, pubs, and ramen shops, it is one of the leading nightlife districts in Hokkaido.
・Asahikawa is especially famous for hearty local dishes such as ramen, shinko-yaki
(grilled young chicken), and horumon-yaki (grilled offal), as well as its historic
sake brands like Otokoyama and Kokushi Muso.
・Furano is best known for its wine, cheese, and "omu-curry" (omelet curry). The area
is also attractive for offering local sake and craft beer alongside uniquely
Hokkaido-style cuisine.
・Biei does not have a large nightlife district, but instead features small izakayas,
snack bars, and pubs scattered around town, making it perfect for enjoying one or
two cozy spots at a relaxed pace.
