The Hakone Yumoto Onsen area is known as the gateway to Hakone, attracting both day-trippers and overnight guests. During the day, visitors enjoy strolling through the hot spring town, browsing souvenir shops, and sampling street food, while in the evening the atmosphere becomes calmer, revealing the quiet charm of a traditional onsen town. Around Hakone-Yumoto Station, you'll find a number of izakayas and eateries, making it possible to enjoy bar hopping at about two venues within walking distance. However, unlike in big cities, the venues are not densely concentrated, and some may close relatively early. If you wish to enjoy bar hopping here, it's best to decide on the places you'd like to visit in advance.
