In central Hiroshima, lively entertainment districts are filled with izakayas and bars, where you can easily enjoy bar hopping between two or three venues within walking distance. Many places also serve Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and other local specialties, making it a great spot for a vibrant night out. Miyajima, on the other hand, is bustling with tourists during the day but takes on a calm and quiet atmosphere in the evening, with only a limited number of dining options open. This makes it more suitable for enjoying a relaxed meal and drinks at a single venue, often within accommodations. Kure, a historic port town, features local izakayas and eateries frequented by residents, but the density of venues is lower than in Hiroshima City, creating a more laid-back drinking experience.
