Mito's station area is Ibaraki's largest nightlife hub, filled with izakayas and snack bars where you can pair drinks with local specialties like natto dishes and anglerfish hotpot. Tsukuba, as a science city, has a more international vibe, with bars and casual izakayas popular among foreign visitors. In port towns like Tsuchiura and Hitachi, seafood izakayas offer ultra-fresh catches alongside local sake.

In Koga and Toride, commuter towns near Tokyo, casual tavern streets attract office workers for easy bar hopping. For visitors, Hitachinaka and Oarai are popular coastal destinations, where seafood markets double as lively drinking areas.
