◆Toyama – Food & Nightlife

Around Toyama Station, izakayas and standing bars serve local sake alongside seafood delicacies from Toyama Bay, such as firefly squid and white shrimp. The Sougawa area is a beloved local nightlife district, with cozy, down-to-earth taverns.

In Takaoka, izakayas highlight regional dishes like masu-zushi (trout sushi) and yellowtail. In fishing towns like Himi and Uozu, portside pubs offer freshly caught seafood in an authentic atmosphere. Even in mountain areas like Gokayama, small inns and taverns showcase local ingredients for a unique experience.
