I recently visited KidZania, a facility where kids can have a great time, so I'm sharing my experience with you!
What is KidZania?
KidZania is a hands-on edutainment facility for children where they can experience various occupations through realistic role-play. This popular facility has locations worldwide, and in Japan, there are three locations: Tokyo, Hyogo Prefecture, and Fukuoka Prefecture. This time, I visited KidZania Tokyo, located in the Toyosu area of Tokyo. It's conveniently located inside LaLaport Toyosu, a shopping complex, making it easy to access.
KidZania Tokyo has approximately 60 different activities, ranging from factory experiences at famous Japanese confectionery companies to popular occupation experiences that children love.
Activities We Experienced
This time, we experienced 6 different activities 🥰
Perfumer Experience
The first activity we tried was working as a perfumer (fragrance creator). This experience allows children to create their own original room fragrance. By combining various scents, they can create a one-of-a-kind fragrance! The finished room fragrance can be taken home, of course. Just seeing my child in that white uniform made me completely satisfied as a parent!
Pastry Chef Experience
The pastry chef experience allows children to make really cute sweets. The sweets are delicious, but the costume is absolutely adorable, making this a highly recommended activity❤️
Confectionery Factory Staff Experience
The confectionery factory staff experience at Morinaga, a famous Japanese confectionery company, is one of the popular activities. This time, we made Hi-Chew candies!
Energy Company Experience
As staff members of an energy company, children learn about energy in this educational experience.
Gas Station Staff Experience
At the gas station, children experience jobs like cleaning cars.
Hamburger Shop Staff Experience
In the hamburger shop staff experience, children can actually make hamburgers. After the experience, they can eat the hamburgers they made themselves. It's wonderful that they can actually eat what they made! By the way, food-making experiences are very popular, so if you want to participate, I recommend planning carefully in advance.
Tips for Enjoying KidZania
If you want to experience many activities or participate in popular ones, advance preparation is essential! The key is to decide in advance what you want to experience by watching videos and other resources. On top of that, if you plan an efficient route, you can enjoy more experiences, though that can be quite challenging...
Also, at KidZania Tokyo and Hyogo, every Wednesday is set as "English Wednesday!", where several activities are conducted in English (the English-supported activities differ by facility). Children who don't understand Japanese can also participate, so if you're interested, I recommend visiting on a Wednesday😉 (Advance reservation recommended.)
