The trip starts at Asakusa Station! It takes about 5 minutes to walk to your next destination.

Asakusa Station is a gateway to Asakusa, operated by Tobu Railway, Tokyo Metro, and Toei. Located in close proximity to famous tourist attractions like Senso-ji Temple, it is frequently utilized as a base for sightseeing. Visitors can also enjoy sightseeing by rickshaw.
1:00 pm Komakata Dozeu Main Store
Went to the Komagata Dozeu main store, which has been in business for over 200 years, to try the Dozeu Nabe (Loach Hot Pot), a dish I had been curious about for a long time. I was intrigued by the taste that has remained unchanged since the Edo period.

A very tasteful exterior
Sometimes, they are also holding a cultural lesson where you can learn about Edo’s food culture, performing arts, and crafts.

Atmospheric interior!
The restaurant has tables, but if you want to enjoy the atmosphere, you should go to the tatami room on the first floor.

Dozeu Nabe (loach hot pot)
Overwhelmed by its appearance, but when you bring it to your mouth… it’s delicious! You can add green onion (free of charge) that go well with it, or shichimi(seven-flavor chili pepper) or karashi(mustard) to your liking.

Each floor of the restaurant offers a different taste and atmosphere in a space that retains its original Edo period atmosphere. The restaurant is also ideal for banquets and dinners.
3:00pm KONCENT Komagata Main Store
The store offers about 200 items ranging from cooking utensils to fashionable accessories, with a focus on household goods. (*The photo below shows the Kuramae main store, which closed on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. It has now moved to the Komakata main store.)

Bath products and toothbrush stands
The soap dish is made of diatomaceous earth, which absorbs moisture. I can’t believe how stylish yet functional it is!

Too cute bear-shaped dish
It seems to be a plate for children, but adults can use it too..!

Interesting!
It’s a stress relief squeeze ball with human face! I can’t stop touching it lol

Unique accessories
Some are made of gum, some are made of string, some are made of paper. There are many things that you cannot find in the other stores!

It’s crowded with people!

Since we had come all the way to Asakusa, we also went to Hoppy Street.

Hoppy Street in the evening
Hoppy Street, which is always busy, is recommended if you come a little earlier in the day because it is not crowded!

“Hoppy Street” is a drinking district in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo, with a number of izakaya and bars that are busy from noon. Many of the stores have a nostalgic old-fashioned atmosphere and are visited by both local regulars and tourists traveling to Tokyo. In particular, “nikomi” (stewed dish) is famous, and the taste varies from store to store. Hoppy, a drink mixed with shochu (distilled spirit), is also a big seller and has long been a favorite. The area is bustling with people from noon onward, making it a great place to enjoy a drink in a row.
5:05pm Asakusa-sakaba Okamoto
Have a drink here in the old-fashioned, nostalgic atmosphere.

There is a shuttle bus service from the station, so you can get to the ship stop without getting tired & lost.

Waiting area of the ship
The ship’s waiting area displays a variety of objects, so there is never a boring moment while waiting.

Good atmosphere on ship
The inside is tatami matted and there is an iron plate in the middle of the table.

More than just monja
It is also nice to have a variety of side dishes! The waiter beside me carefully taught me how to cook it so that even a beginner like me could cook it well!
