Okinawa 2 Day Itinerary: Ishigaki island Trip

Summary

Ishigaki Island is located on the western side of the main island of Okinawa. It is known as a resort area rich in nature with beautiful beaches and underwater coral reefs.

This time, we stayed at The Miyara Garden, a single building for rent.I was able to relax and not have to worry about the people around me.We drank and ate a lot at an izakaya where you can also enjoy Okinawan gourmet food.Ishigaki Island, everyone should visit!

Travel Itinerary

10:00am New Ishigaki Airport (Painushima Ishigaki Airport) – 新石垣空港（南ぬ島石垣空港）

Arrive at New Ishigaki Airport from Naha Airport.

New Ishigaki Airport (Painushima Ishigaki Airport), located in Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture, is the southernmost airport in Japan. There are stores and restaurants where you can enjoy meals and souvenirs. There is also a direct bus service to the remote island terminal, so there is no need to worry even if you do not have a rental car.

3:00pm THE MIYARA GARDEN（石垣島 ザミヤラガーデン）

We will be staying at a one-building private resort hotel with a private pool in every building.It’s sure to be fun for girls, lovers, and families ✨

Private Pool

THE MIYARA GARDEN is a resort hotel located in Miyara, Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture. All buildings have private pools, and it is a one-building private accommodation. It is ideal for girls’ trip, couples’ trip, and family trip.

6:00pm Umimonogatari Ishigakijima Store（海物語 石垣島店）

At night, the restaurant is an izakaya where you can enjoy Okinawan cuisine.You can also enjoy live Okinawa folk music.

Habu sake (Awamori-based alcohol made in Okinawa)

When you think of Okinawa, do you think of habu sake I’d like to try it, but I couldn’t muster the courage.If you go there, challenge yourself.

Orion Draft (550 yen)

Okinawa is known for its Orion beer!It’s refreshing and easy to drink, so it’s easy to go on.It tasted great because we moved a lot that day.

Ishigaki Island colander mozuku seaweed rich in minerals (770 yen)

The thickness is very different from the mozuku found in supermarkets.The chewy texture and the gurgling sensation are irresistible.

Goyachanpuru (Stir-fried bitter gourd) (770 yen)

It tastes kind of nostalgic.It tastes different from the bitter Goyachanpuru I make at home!I guess it’s different when you eat it in the real place.

Two pieces of seared Ishigaki beef nigiri (680 yen)

It melted! Ishigaki beef is really delicious.

Seifuku mizuwari (495 yen)

I also drank some 30 degree Awamori. It was surprisingly easy to drink with water.But be careful not to drink too much!

Live folk music

At Umimonogatari, you can listen to live folk music while enjoying your meal.

Yaeyama soba (small) (550 yen)

The final dish is Yaeyama soba (Okinawa soba eaten in the Yaeyama region).I ate a lot, so I went with the small size, but I could have gone with the regular size.

Umimonogatari Ishigakijima Store, located in Misaki-cho, Ishigaki City, Okinawa, is an Okinawan folk song tavern. At this restaurant, you can enjoy live Okinawa folk songs while enjoying delicious food.

After enjoying the evening meal, we will return to the hotel and spend some time relaxing!
