This time, three girls stayed at the newly opened “FAV HOTEL Kumamoto” in Kumamoto.We ate a lot of delicious food and had a girls’ night out.This is a hotel where you can have a wonderful time with family, friends, and of course couples! We also introduce some fashionable spots in Kumamoto.

Itinerary (Day 1)

After arriving in Kumamoto, the first thing to do is to have lunch! So we first went to the arcade street in Kumamoto City.

The restaurant for lunch was recommended to us by a local. It is located just past the upper street arcade.

A restaurant where you can enjoy stylish Italian food at reasonable prices.

The juicy meat wrapped in a crispy batter was delicious! Served with tomato sauce and mustard with paprika 😋🍽.

Tomato Sauce with Yari Squid, Olives and Capers 950 yen

Pasta in tomato sauce with lots of seafood umami. It was very fragrant with plenty of olives too 🍅🤎.

Potato gnocchi with cheese sauce – 980 yen

The sticky gnocchi was delicious with the rich cheese sauce! Gnocchi is not easy to eat at home, so it’s nice to have it 🥺‼️

Located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Trattoria Coco is a restaurant serving Italian cuisine. Located in an arcade in Kumamoto City, this popular restaurant is recommended by locals. You can enjoy stylish Italian cuisine at reasonable prices.

Tsuchimachisuji Station

Take the Kumamoto City Tram to get around! The fee was a flat rate of ¥170! IC cards are also available: 🙆‍♀️

Tsurimachi-suji Station, located at 4 Tetorihonmachi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a convenient station for those traveling by Kumamoto streetcar. The fare is a flat rate of 180 yen, and IC cards are accepted. There are many commercial facilities and restaurants in the surrounding area, which are used by both tourists and locals.

Gofukumachi Station

Take a 10-minute train ride and get off at Gofukumachi 🫡. The hotel is a 3-minute walk from here!

Gofukumachi Station is located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. It is accessible by train in about 10 minutes, and the hotel can be reached in about 3 minutes on foot from the station. There are many restaurants and shopping facilities nearby, making it a convenient location for tourists.

Very sunny room with a panoramic view of Kumamoto city. What a surprise, this time I stayed on the top 12 floors 🙊💓 The view was very nice ❕.

This room can accommodate up to 6 people! Two queen beds and two single beds on top: 👏🏻👏🏼 There is a power outlet at the bedside and WiFi is available. It’s a nice and stylish room 🥰.

I bought this as an evening dessert 🤤. None of them were too sweet and very easy to eat👍 It’s just the right amount so I could gobble it up even after dinner! (LOL)

Nagasaki Jiro Coffee Shop

We have a little time before dinner, so here’s a break 😌. A coffee shop with a retro-modern atmosphere created by utilizing the space of Taisho architecture ☕

It was a very cozy space with a long-time favorite among locals and a friendly owner! 💗

Located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Nagasaki Jiro Café is a coffee shop with a retro-modern atmosphere in a Taisho era building. It is a cozy space loved by locals, and from the seats by the window, you can enjoy a view of the streetcar.

Nagasaki Jiro Bookstore

This nice looking building is a bookstore and coffee shop!

The first floor is a bookstore 😊. The famous novelist Mori Ogai is said to have visited the bookstore, which was founded in 1874 and is one of the oldest bookstores in the prefecture! If the timing is right, you can take great pictures as the tram runs right in front of you! 😳🚃

Located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Nagasaki Jiro Bookstore is one of the oldest bookstores in the prefecture, founded in 1874, with a bookstore on the first floor and a coffee shop on the second floor.

Tsuchimachisuji Station

From Shinmachi Station, just a short distance from Nagasaki Jiro, Go to Dori Suji-cho station for dinner! 🚃

Kumamoto Yatai Mura

A landmark for food and fun just opened in June 2022! Being the newest spot in Kumamoto, it was full of people, especially on weekends! 😳

I stood in line for a bit to get into the stalls and went around the whole place, but all of them were full! This festive atmosphere is fun and you can enjoy delicious food from Kumamoto and other parts of Kyushu in one place 👏☺️

Located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Yatai Mura is a landmark of food and fun with a collection of restaurants and antenna stores. opened in June 2022, it is Kumamoto’s newest spot and attracts many people on weekends. The stalls are lined with delicious Kyushu food and offer a festive atmosphere.

ROBATA ITALIAN, NATURAL WINE Irufu

The first restaurant is an Italian and wine restaurant with a delicious Robata grill! 🍷🇮🇹 A new type of modern Italian cuisine from an authentic pizza specialty restaurant in Kikuchi City! Robata and Italian are an interesting and unexpected combination! 😂

I also liked the live atmosphere of the Robata-yaki being cooked right in front of me! There is also a standing drinking table, which is just right for a quick drink 😎.

It is curry flavored and goes well with alcohol! It was venison but without the smell, and the hollowness was similar to beef! 😙

Robata Italian Natural Wine Irufu is a restaurant located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, where you can enjoy robatayaki of gibier with delicious natural wine. The restaurant offers a live atmosphere where robatayaki is cooked right in front of you, making it the perfect place for a quick drink.

Kagokoma Yatai: Cheers to Black

The second store is this Kagoshima specialty! We had Kurobuta pork, Jidori chicken and shochu! 🫡

The waitresses with Kagoshima accents are very friendly and teach you many delicious ways to eat! It was delicious, fun and awesome 🥺🍀.

Sake made with Kagoshima’s famous products! The mikan sour is refreshing and perfect for summer! The green tea split was easy to drink with a flavorful tea aroma 😊.

It was dipped in a mixture of ginger and garlic with Kagoshima sweet soy sauce. It’s really good already, I’ve never had chicken sashimi before, but there was no smell at all, and it became my favorite! ❤️‍🔥

Kagoshima Kurobuta pork soup shabu-shabu, medium 1680 yen

The level of dashi is so good that you can drink it up! (lol) The addition of ponzu (Japanese citrus juice) gave the dish a different flavor and made it excellent 🤤.

Kagokuma Yatai Kuro de Cheers” located in Jotomachi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, is a restaurant where you can enjoy Kagoshima specialty dishes and shochu. You can enjoy dishes using delicious ingredients such as Kurobuta pork and Jidori chicken. The waitresses with Kagoshima accents serve you in a friendly manner, so you can enjoy yourself while being taught how to enjoy the delicious food.

Kuma Shochu Tasting Sake

There was a sample sake from all 27 Kuma shochu breweries! This is a vending machine that allows you to sample unique brands of sake from 100 yen per glass!

Choose the shochu of your choice, put in your money and out you go 👏. It can be enjoyed with water, hot water or on the rocks.

At “Kuma Shochu Tameshishu” located in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, you can enjoy tasting sake from all 27 Kuma shochu breweries. 100 yen per glass allows you to try unique brands, and you can choose your favorite shochu and put in your money to have it served. You can enjoy it in a variety of ways, such as with water, hot water, or on the rocks.

They have a large selection of coffee beans that you can buy as souvenirs! The store was filled with the indescribable aroma of coffee beans mixed with charcoal😌🍀.
