BoConcept Japan Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo) is introducing a new rug collection as part of its 2026 autumn/winter lineup, bringing warmth, rich texture, and quiet sophistication to modern living spaces at a time when homes are calling for more softness and comfort.
Made with materials such as 100% New Zealand wool that highlight the natural appeal of the fibers, the collection reflects BoConcept's ongoing pursuit of quality, craftsmanship, and designs made to be loved for years to come.
Rather than bold colors or decorative flourishes, the collection focuses on texture, weaving technique, and subtle depth of tone. Bouclé surfaces, pile heights that shift three-dimensionally, and artisan hand-finishing create rich character that can be felt as well as seen. A carefully chosen neutral color palette blends naturally with BoConcept's fabrics, leather, veneer, and ceramics, bringing a cohesive sense of style to any space.
The new rug collection was developed in collaboration with Danish rug brand Linie Design and is finished by hand, piece by piece, by skilled artisans in India. It embodies the growing desire for the rich character and comfort that come from layering natural textures.
"We wanted to create rugs that would blend seamlessly with the collection as a whole, furniture included," says Finn Jensen, BoConcept's Head of Retail Creative & Visual Merchandising. "We carefully considered every color, texture, and material, designing them to sit naturally alongside our furniture while creating a sense of unity throughout the space."
Beautifully Shaping Modern Homes
Rugs are no longer just a decorative finishing touch for a space. In recent years, their role has expanded, becoming an important design element that shapes an entire interior and the impression it gives. Oversized rugs and rugs with organic silhouettes gently divide living and dining zones and tie furniture together as a single grouping, bringing depth and a sense of calm to a home.
Responding to this shift, the AW26 collection introduces large rugs that wrap around an entire furniture setting, along with circular and organic forms. "Demand for large rugs is extremely high right now," says Finn Jensen.
"More and more people want to place an entire furniture setting — sofa, table, and all — on top of a rug. It gives the space personality and can completely transform the feel of a room."
Available in sizes up to 300 x 400 cm, the collection is designed to comfortably hold an entire sofa or dining set, beautifully framing a space while bringing warmth and softness underfoot.
Rich Character Born From Texture
What defines this collection is the rich texture of its materials. "The craftsmanship behind these rugs is truly remarkable. Many of the patterns are still cut one by one, by hand, using large scissors. The level of skill that goes into every single rug is astonishing," says Finn Jensen.

"They bring a sense of luxury to a space, and because they're made from wool, they're also practical and highly durable." The AW26 rug collection was designed not simply to decorate a space, but to shape the time spent there and the comfort felt while living in it. Through every rug, the collection expresses craftsmanship, comfort, and an evolving aesthetic of contemporary Danish living.
