Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort and Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows are both set to launch on September 10, 2026 (Thursday). Story Pack 2 adds the new playable Vault Hunter, the Hacker Loveless, along with a new zone filled with missions, collectibles, and striking landmarks, tough enemies, intense boss fights, and plenty of new loot. Bounty Pack 5 includes new replayable missions, a boss, customization items, and Legendary gear.
Fierce Battles in the Verdant Wilds of Providence
Providence is a remote tropical resort island beneath a towering volcano, made for those chosen by the Timekeeper — and it is about to become a warzone. To secure the valuable Ordonite resource, the Tediore corporation has sent an expeditionary force led by five elite commanders who serve the ruthless Captain Harmony. Players team up with FL4K, the unrivaled beastmaster who also appeared in Borderlands 3, to rescue their skag companion Mr. Chew and teach Tediore a hard lesson.
The island is overrun with Tediore forces, including exosuits that keep fighting even after the soldier inside has been killed, and massive mechs that can buff allies or digistruct reinforcements mid-battle. To reach Captain Harmony, players must fight through Tediore's rank-and-file troops, hulking combat mechs, and the elite commanders who lead them. Getting to the Captain is no easy task — Tediore has converted the island's volcano into its base of operations, and the volcano remains active, spewing Ordonite-laced magma across the island and occasionally spawning mini-bosses from the lava.
Verticality plays a major role on Providence, reinforced by a new traversal option: ziplines. Players can grapple onto ziplines to travel high above the treetops, reaching new vantage points and gaining the upper hand in combat. Providence also offers an island-exclusive activity: uploading into Tediore's digiverse servers to fight at the source of enemy waves and stop them from materializing in the physical world.
Players who survive Providence's dangerous jungle and Tediore's forces have a chance to earn especially powerful loot, including two new Pearlescent weapons and 18 Legendary gear pieces.
New Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker
Loveless the Hacker, the second new Vault Hunter joining Borderlands 4, lets players cut loose in Providence's jungle. A former Anshin hacker turned assassin, she is equipped with top-tier cybernetics and shares her mind with a digital virus of her own creation. The virus can digistruct into physical form, serving as a dangerous weapon that embodies her pursuit of perfection.
Loveless and her customization items can be purchased separately from Story Pack 2's story content, map zone, and missions. More details on her gameplay will be revealed soon, and a Gearbox DevCast episode focused on her is scheduled for September 3 (Thursday).
Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows Adds Even More Content
With the arrival of Elpis, Kairos has changed, and it now shows signs of total collapse. Amid this, Amara, drawing on her Siren power and her connection to the Phase, traces the source of the instability to a former laboratory of Vile Lictor, where Order Synths that once served him lie dormant.
Players team up with Amara to track the Phase disturbance and stop it from spreading before the universe collapses. This new mission revisits the Phase dimension, a key element connecting Elpis and all Sirens across Borderlands 4's story, and Bounty Pack 5 digs deeper into the importance of Sirens in the Borderlands universe as Amara confronts the possibility of permanently losing her connection to the Phase.
Completing the mission unlocks a Vault Hunter skin usable by all Vault Hunters, a vehicle, and an ECHO-4 Drone skin. Defeating the new boss, two mini-bosses, and Vile-type enemies also yields a new Pearlescent weapon and six Legendary loot items.
Separate from the story-focused Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows, Bounty Pack 5: Vault Card 5 can also be purchased on its own, letting players earn space-themed rewards through gameplay, including 24 customization items and four re-rollable Legendary gear pieces.
Story Pack 2, Loveless the Hacker, and Bounty Pack 5 all arrive as part of the September 10 (Thursday) Version 1.10 update, which also raises the level cap by 10 for all Borderlands 4 players.
Starting September 10 (Thursday), the individual components of Story Pack 1 and Bounty Pack 2 will also become available for separate purchase (previously, this was only possible for Bounty Pack 3 and later DLC). As a result, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players who already own Story Pack 1 or Bounty Pack 2 content will need to visit their platform's store listing for the components after September 10 (Thursday) and re-download the content they own.
