Boul'Mich × Izumi Kamoshida's "Peaceful Macaron" Returns with New Seasonal Flower Designs from May 1

The Peaceful Macaron collaboration between confectionery brand Boul'Mich and food art painter Izumi Kamoshida is entering its second year, with a new design going on sale from May 1 (Friday) at department stores and station shopping complexes across Japan.

Centered around SDG Goal 10 — "Reduced Inequalities" — the ongoing project uses sweets and art as a way to convey gratitude and raise awareness of social issues. This year's redesigned macarons feature six flowers from each season arranged in a heart shape, with a white dove — a symbol of peace — placed at the center. The colors within the heart reflect the atmosphere and light of each respective season.

Peaceful Macaron — May, June, and July Design

The spring-summer design brings together six flowers, each carrying its own message:

  • Nemophila — "Success Anywhere" / Lily of the Valley — "Return of Happiness": A pairing of clear blue and delicate white, bringing a sense of quiet courage and the promise of happiness returning.
  • Hydrangea — "Family Harmony" / Lavender — "I Am Waiting for You": Layers of overlapping color that gently wrap feelings of connection with loved ones and moments of tranquility.
  • Sunflower — "Admiration" / Dahlia — "Elegance": The strength of a flower facing the sun and the nobility of its bloom, guiding toward a future where one can shine as themselves.

Together, the six flowers tell a hopeful story: "Courage → Happiness → Connection → Peace → Admiration → Brilliance."

About the Peaceful Macaron Project

The Peaceful Macaron is a year-round project themed around SDG Goal 10 — "Reduced Inequalities" — delivering the feeling of "thank you" through sweets and art. The project aims to draw attention to social issues such as gender, nationality, and economic inequality through the medium of artfully crafted macarons.

The concept is rooted in recognizing diversity, showing respect for different backgrounds and values, and making heartfelt appreciation visible and tangible. Each macaron is created with the wish that a small seed of kindness will be planted in the heart of whoever receives one, eventually spreading a "circle of gratitude" further and further.

In addition to seasonal design changes every three months, artist Izumi Kamoshida's picture book Peaceful Macaron is distributed on social media. The original artwork is on display at the Boul'Mich Ginza flagship store.
