British lifestyle brand Cath Kidston will release "THE ARCHIVE PROJECT - An Anthology of Nostalgia, curated by you." on Friday, October 23, 2026. This spring, the brand asked fans on social media which art and items they wanted to see brought back, and the five most popular prints are being reissued. The collection goes on sale at Cath Kidston directly managed stores nationwide and the official online store (https://cathkidston.jp/).
A pre-sale will run from Wednesday, October 14 to Tuesday, October 20 at Autumn Fashion FUNFAIR (笑顔になれる、私の英国ファッション), held at Kotokoto Stage 12 (コトコトステージ12) on the 1st floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store.
Six styles are available, including an archive day bag reissued to the same specifications as when it first launched, an archive tote bag updated for today, and a new drawstring bag. Every item in THE ARCHIVE PROJECT carries a special pink-logo brand label, an adaptation of the brand-name design used at the time.

The brand describes each Cath Kidston print as a "stitch that marks time," a hand-drawn way of giving shape to memories that stayed in the heart and tucking genuine feelings away like pressed flowers. In its words, the archive is not simply a collection of beautiful prints but a nostalgic book of poems shared with people around the world. This autumn, with London, where Cath Kidston began, in mind, the archive reopens with reinterpreted classics loved across the ages.
The Five Reissued Prints
Lace Gingham Floral
Inspired by "Spitalfields lace" discovered at a vintage market in London's East End. The scallops of broderie anglaise (English embroidery), a traditional English embroidery technique, form a traditional "Spitalfields stripe," creating a layered look that feels like several textiles stacked together.
Spitalfields lace and Spitalfields stripes are extremely rare, artistic lace, embroidery and stripe patterns born from the silk-weaving industry that flourished in London's Spitalfields district from the 17th to the 18th century.
Pretty London
One of the first London prints the brand created, featuring landmarks such as Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye. The design has been loved around the world and updated over time, and a special version featuring that famous mouse also exists.
Floral Gingham Blue
A print that captures fond summer memories. Hand-drawn gingham checks are arranged in scallop shapes, and small bouquets of traditional flowers fill the spaces between them. Reflecting the textile traditions that inspired it, delicate stitch-like touches appear in the details.
Budgies
An instantly recognizable classic Cath Kidston print. In soft, sketch-like strokes, it shows a devoted pair of budgerigars perching beside branches of pastel flowers. It was originally a big hit on homeware, mugs and dining items, and remains one of the brand's signature prints.
Bleached Summer Blossom
Although it is a Cath Kidston signature, its charm differs from the large, showy blooms that symbolize the brand. Reinterpreted many times over the years, the print has also been used for classic bird prints and numerous exciting collaborations.
Lineup and Prices
All prices include tax.
Archive Day Bag: ¥9,900 each
Prints: Lace Gingham Floral / Pretty London / Bleached Summer Blossom / Floral Gingham Blue
A reissue of the "Day Bag," which was hugely popular at the time and is still loved by many fans. It is made of PVC-coated cotton canvas, with cotton handles and patches that give it a nostalgic look. Outer pockets on both sides and a zip pocket inside offer more storage than the bag appears to hold. The size, the shape and even the cotton canvas lining printed with the art faithfully reproduce the original design.

Mini Day Bag: ¥6,600 each
Prints: Lace Gingham Floral / Pretty London / Bleached Summer Blossom / Floral Gingham Blue / Rose Miniature / Ribbon Bow / Lace Hearts / Bows & Rose
A modern update of the day bag. It is about 70% smaller than the original size so it can be worked into outfits more fashionably, holding a smartphone and wallet compactly while doubling as a styling accent. The cotton tape shoulder strap is soft against the skin and easy to use every day. The strap is detachable, so the bag can also be carried as a handbag.

Archive Tote Bag: ¥4,400 each
Prints: Lace Gingham Floral / Pretty London / Budgies / Bleached Summer Blossom / Floral Gingham Blue
Reissued with the same fabric thickness and size as when it first launched. It uses a sturdy cotton canvas of moderate thickness, without PVC coating, that keeps its shape well. The handles are longer than the original, making the bag easier to use.

Basic Tote Bag: ¥4,400 each
Prints: Rose Miniature / Ribbon Bow / Lace Hearts

Drawstring Bag: ¥6,600 each
Prints: Lace Gingham Floral / Pretty London / Bleached Summer Blossom / Floral Gingham Blue
Nostalgic archive art printed on a new, trend-conscious bag. Many Cath Kidston bags are made of cotton, but this one is polyester, making it lighter and easy to use every day. The drawstring style, which is in fashion, looks frilly when the gathered part is folded over and stylish when it is stood up.

Towel Handkerchief: ¥990 each
Prints: Lace Gingham Floral / Pretty London / Budgies / Bleached Summer Blossom / Floral Gingham Blue
