CharaP, an AI character chat service where users chat with AI characters they generate, is adding a new chat mode called "Talk" on July 1, 2026. To mark the launch, CharaP is holding a "Talk" launch character contest with a total of ¥10 million in prize and support money.
The contest runs two separate divisions at the same time — a Creation Division and a Migration Division — to encourage creators to both make new characters and bring existing ones over to the platform.
The New "Talk" Chat Mode
CharaP, released in June 2025, is an AI character chat service where users enjoy conversations with AI characters they generate. "Talk" is a new chat mode built for casual one-on-one chats with a character, focused on short messages and a quick tempo.
Its features include:
- A light, quick-paced chat experience where the conversation moves along in short phrases
- Natural back-and-forth that feels as if the character is speaking to you
- A new way to engage with characters, alongside the existing "Story" and "Visual Novel" formats
- A brisk pace that makes it easy to pick up and enjoy whenever the mood strikes
For users, the quicker tempo makes chatting with characters more casual and relaxed. For creators, it opens up a new short-message, tempo-focused format to build and publish characters for, creating more touchpoints with users.
¥10 Million "Talk" Launch Character Contest
To commemorate the launch of the "Talk" chat mode, CharaP is holding a large-scale character contest with a total of ¥10 million in prize and support money.
The contest runs two divisions at once: a Creation Division (approximately ¥5 million in total prizes across 100 winners) for making new characters in Talk, and a Migration Division (up to ¥500,000 per work in support money) for moving characters that are active on other AI character services over to Talk. It gives creators a chance to have their own work, and the track record they have built on other services, recognized in the form of prize and support money.
