Kameido Clock (カメイドクロック) in Koto, Tokyo, will host "Kumamon Fan Thanksgiving 2026 in TOKYO – Kumamon School Festival" (くまモンファン感謝祭2026 in TOKYO ～くまモン学園祭～) for two days only, on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026. Organized by Kumamoto Prefecture, the event is a chance to thank fans of Kumamon, the prefecture's Sales and Happiness Director, for their daily support and for their support following the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake (令和8年熊本地震), while sharing the appeal of Kumamoto.
This Year's Theme: "Kumamon Gakuen"
Visitors are welcomed as classmates at "Kumamon Gakuen" (くまモン学園) and can experience the flavors and tourist attractions of Kumamoto through hands-on activities such as getting a student ID, taking an academic test, and joining a stamp rally.
The venue will also host a gourmet fair with limited-time menus made with Kumamoto-grown ingredients. A special stage featuring Gunma-chan (ぐんまちゃん), a mascot popular across Japan, and Kumamon will add to the festive mood. The event invites visitors to experience Kumamoto's appeal without leaving Tokyo and to build an interest in and attachment to Kumamoto over a two-day school life together.
Background of the Event
Every year, Kumamoto Prefecture holds the Kumamon Fan Thanksgiving so that people in the Tokyo metropolitan area can feel Kumamoto's rich food, tourism resources, and the charm of its people up close.
This year's theme is a school festival, and the event offers hands-on activities in which visitors are the stars. Through a "school life" that feels nostalgic to adults and fresh to children, it offers new encounters with and discoveries about Kumamoto.
The event aims to turn support for Kumamon into interest in and attachment to Kumamoto, and to nurture feelings of "I want to go," "I want to try it," and "I want to support Kumamoto."
Highlight 1: Get a Student ID and Become a Kumamon Gakuen Student
Visitors can enroll in Kumamon Gakuen and receive a student ID. Many other school-festival-style activities are also planned, including:
- Taking the academic test
- A stamp rally around the venue

Highlight 2: Enjoy Kumamoto at Kameido Clock Too with Collaboration Fairs at In-House Shops
Alongside the Kumamon School Festival, shops inside Kameido Clock will hold collaboration fairs featuring the flavors of Kumamoto. Visitors can enjoy Kumamoto at the venue, savor it in the yokocho alley, and bring it to the dinner table at home. The two days are a chance to show support through eating and shopping.
Eat, Drink, and Win: Kamekuro Yokocho Collaboration
Seven participating shops in "Kamekuro Yokocho" (カメクロ横丁) will serve menu items made with Kumamoto products for the duration of the event only. Customers who order a collaboration menu item also receive a ticket for a drawing where they can win Kumamoto gourmet items on the spot. Each shop's individual style meets Kumamoto ingredients in flavors found only at this event.

Bring Kumamoto's Flavors to Your Table at Home: Life's Kumamoto Products Fair (Kameido Clock Store Only)
The supermarket Life (ライフ) will also hold a fair featuring Kumamoto products. After getting to know Kumamoto at the school festival, visitors can pick out ingredients to enjoy at home, take home items that catch their eye, and share the flavors of Kumamoto with their families.
Highlight 3: Kumamon x Gunma-chan Special Stage
On the school festival stage, Kumamon, as student council president, will show off his signature dance and perform as a club activity presentation.
A special stage is also planned in which his good friend Gunma-chan joins him as the "KG duo." As a special collaboration that can be seen only here, it is one of the event's biggest highlights.
