Cheese Garden's New "Orange Financier" Brings Citrus Brightness to Spring and Early Summer

Cheese Garden, the Tochigi-based confectionery brand, is launching the Orange Financier on April 15, 2026. The new treat will be available at all Cheese Garden locations and through the brand's online shop through late June 2026.

The Orange Financier is a seasonal addition to the brand's classic financier lineup — a butter and almond cake long popular with a wide range of customers. Starting in October 2025, Cheese Garden began offering limited-time seasonal flavors, and this spring-to-early-summer release marks the latest in that series.

The new financier is made with richly flavored browned butter and incorporates two types of citrus peel — orange peel and grapefruit peel — along with maqaw, an aromatic spice with a faint bitterness and fresh citrusy fragrance. The result is a moist, delicately baked cake that layers the brightness of orange with a clean, lingering finish. The combination of almond depth, buttery richness, and the subtle bitterness of the dual-peel blend gives the flavor a satisfying complexity, while the maqaw adds a light, refined quality to the overall sweetness.

Each financier is individually wrapped, making it easy to share with colleagues or friends. The product also works well as a gift for Golden Week homecomings or as a small everyday indulgence.
