collé × Kuroshio Sou POPUP Event "Whispers of spring" Coming to Nanki-Shirahama

Kuroshio Sou, a hotel in Nanki-Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture operated by Freegate Shirahama Co., Ltd. (a group company of PAL GROUP HOLDINGS Co., Ltd.), will host a pop-up exhibition "Whispers of spring" by graphic design studio collé from February 19, 2026 (Thursday) to March 31, 2026 (Tuesday).

As the soft light breaks through the cold and the scent of spring arrives across the sea, the meeting between collé and Kuroshio Sou dates back to the hotel's reopening in 2023. This exhibition showcases the thoughts and design journey that collé incorporated into the logo and interior visuals. Alongside the exhibition, "published by collé" will offer warm, spring-anticipating items such as wooden flowers and letter sets. In Wakayama's mild climate and Kuroshio Sou's comfortable space, guests can enjoy the beautiful spring world envisioned by collé, connected through design.

About the Facility

When considering what truly makes a good trip, the answer arrived at is not just dazzling moments, but authentic beauty that becomes more profound with appreciation. Through travel, we hope guests experience inspiration and spend a mindful journey.

With this philosophy, Kuroshio Sou offers a total of 11 rooms: 8 Garden View Standard rooms and 3 Corner Junior Suites. The facility features a large public bath with natural hot spring water from Nanki-Shirahama Onsen and a private bath with a carefully crafted hinoki (Japanese cypress) tub where guests can experience the traditional beauty of Japan.

The cuisine is supervised by Chef Ryohei Hayashi of Tenoshima, a Michelin one-star Japanese restaurant in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. The concept centers on "mindful" food that promotes wellness, "authentic" contemporary Japanese cuisine that remains true to tradition while adding modern arrangements, and "inspiration" evoked through beautifully simple and modern presentation with carefully selected tableware. Based on Wakayama's local cuisine translated into a contemporary context, both dinner and breakfast feature ingredients sourced directly from local producers, offering the flavors of all four seasons.
