Shiraraso Grand Hotel in Shirahama, Wakayama, is launching "Summer Lunch 2026," a seasonal lunch menu served at Lounge Sugar Beach starting Saturday, July 11, 2026. The hotel sits directly connected to Shirara Beach — a popular Kansai resort destination known for its white sand and cobalt blue waters — and the lineup focuses on locally sourced Wakayama ingredients crafted into a selection of original dishes and refreshing drinks.

The menu features dishes including freshly boiled Wakayama shirasu served over rice with a choice of two local soy sauces, Kumano pork yakisoba topped with Kishu Nanko plum mayonnaise, fried chicken made from Kishu's local mikandori chicken raised on mandarin peels, and Kumano beef miso onigiri. All items are available for dine-in at Lounge Sugar Beach or as takeout to enjoy by the poolside or on Shirara Beach itself.

A variety of beach rental goods and water activities are also available throughout the summer season, making it easy to spend a full day at the hotel.

Wakayama-caught Shirasu Don with a Choice of Soy Sauce — ¥1,650

Whitebait from Wakayama's waters is freshly boiled right after landing, then served over rice. Guests choose from two local soy sauces to finish the dish: Yuasa Soy Sauce (Yuasa Town) or Bimi Soy Sauce (Tanabe City).

Yakisoba with Nanko Plum Mayonnaise — ¥1,100

Crispy noodles are coated in the rich depth of soy sauce and the savory flavor of Kumano pork, finished with a house-made mayonnaise highlighting the refined tartness of Kishu Nanko plum.

Mikandori Fried Chicken with Chips — ¥1,210

Made from local Kishu chickens raised on Wakayama mandarin peels, this fried chicken has a juicy, distinctive flavor that keeps guests coming back for more.

Kumano Beef Miso Onigiri (2 pieces) — ¥550

Rice balls filled with a special meat miso made from minced Kumano beef and locally sourced vegetables, slow-cooked together until the flavors meld.

Oden (Daikon, Konjac, Chikuwa, Egg, Grilled Tofu, Chicken Wing — 1 piece each) — ¥1,100 (individual pieces from ¥220)

SUP Rental Service (For hotel guests only)

Rental includes SUP board, paddle, leash cord, and life jacket.

Requirements: Participants must be aged 12 or over with at least one prior SUP experience and basic operating ability, and able to swim 25 meters or more. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. A signed consent form is required at the time of rental. Board availability is limited.

Hotel Outdoor Pool (For hotel guests only)

Operating Period: July 1 (Wed) – September 30 (Sun), 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM

The pool includes a shallow section (60 cm) suitable for children and a deeper section (120 cm) separated by a fence for safety.
