Desktop Mate, the desktop mascot platform developed by Infinite Loop (headquartered in Sapporo, Hokkaido; President Masahiro Ono), has surpassed 2 million cumulative downloads. To mark the milestone, the company announced the launch of the Mac version (open beta), participation in the Steam Summer Sale 2026, and a voice update for the original character あいえるたん.
Mac Version (Open Beta) Now Available
Desktop Mate is now available on macOS. Starting June 24, 2026 (Wednesday), the Mac version (open beta) is live on Steam. Previously Windows-only, the platform has expanded to Mac in response to overwhelming requests from Mac users. All DLC currently available also works with the Mac version.
Note: As this is an open beta, the following features are currently limited:
- Multi-character display
- Wallpaper-change feature for 博麗霊夢 and 霧雨魔理沙
- 雀魂連動 (Jantama integration) for 雀魂「ちび一姫」
- Ctrl+S "Yoshi" integration for 仕事猫

- OS: macOS Tahoe 26 or later
- Memory: 8 GB RAM or more
- Processor: Apple A18 Pro chip / Apple M1 chip or later
- Storage: 500 MB available space

あいえるたん Receives Long-Awaited Voice Update — All Characters Now Have Voices
The original free character あいえるたん, available with a free download of Desktop Mate, has received a long-awaited voice update. The voice is provided by Milia, known as the CV for "VOICEVOX あいえるたん." With this update, every character in Desktop Mate now has a voice. Enjoy a richer experience as the characters on your desktop speak to you.
