On March 13, 2026, Tokiwa Yakuhin Kogyo Co., Ltd. (part of the Noevir Group) announced the limited-edition release of the "Protective UV Essence (lc)" (two varieties) from its makeup brand Excel. The products launched at variety stores, drugstores, and mass retailers nationwide, with advance sales beginning February 27 at the Excel official online shop and March 3 at Plaza and Loft stores.
The Protective UV Essence has been released annually since 2021, each year featuring a different seasonal fragrance. Now in its sixth year, the 2026 edition arrives with two varieties inspired by teatime: 01 Earl Grey and 02 Chamomile Tea.
Two Tea-Inspired Fragrances
01 (lc) — Earl Grey delivers a fruity, fresh, and uplifting scent built around the citrusy brightness of bergamot and lemon.
02 (lc) — Chamomile Tea features a refined, adult-leaning scent with crisp black tea as its base, softened with a touch of chamomile.
The two scents suit different moods — one bright and active, the other calm and sophisticated — making them easy to alternate depending on the day.
The limited-edition packaging uses a light, airy color palette evoking warm sunlight, complemented by a soft textile-inspired check pattern and cutlery silhouettes that bring to mind a pleasant teatime setting.
