To celebrate the 40th anniversary of FREAK'S STORE, a triple collaboration has come together with ALPHA INDUSTRIES, a leading name in military wear, and NANGA, known for its advanced down-product technology.
The project combines the heritage of ALPHA INDUSTRIES, which has long made military wear, with the down technology NANGA has developed through its sleeping bags and down apparel. FREAK'S STORE adds its knack for editing American casual, military, and vintage styles for today.
The collaboration is based on ALPHA INDUSTRIES' signature flight jacket, the "MA-1," and the "M-65 FIELD PARKA / FISH TAIL PARKA," which has its roots in U.S. military field wear. M-65 FIELD JACKET
This fishtail jacket is based on the M-65 FIELD PARKA / FISH TAIL PARKA, which has its roots in U.S. military field wear, and blends in NANGA's down technology.
Its main feature is a 3-way design that combines a shell with a down liner. It can be worn three ways: "shell + liner," "shell only," or "liner only."
The style can be adjusted to the season, temperature, and occasion, for example wearing the shell alone in early autumn and adding the down liner as temperatures drop.
The liner uses recycled down and is designed with onion quilting reminiscent of military liners. It is made to be worn on its own and also has thumbholes.
The shell is made of a cotton-nylon weather cloth that looks tough yet is easy to wear every day. Military-wear details such as ALPHA's original metal zip, gusseted pockets, and water-resistant zips are paired with NANGA's functional elements.
While keeping the iconic M-65 features, such as the long length, the fishtail, and the spindles at the hem, the jacket has been updated through the FREAK'S STORE filter into a balance that can be enjoyed as modern fashion.

This short down jacket is based on ALPHA INDUSTRIES' signature flight jacket, the "MA-1," and blends in NANGA's down technology.
Its main feature is a reversible design that offers a different look on each side. The front is an authentic ALPHA INDUSTRIES MA-1, and turning it inside out reveals an onion-quilted look reminiscent of NANGA's down products.
The jacket uses recycled down. NANGA's long-cultivated lightness and warmth add modern cold-weather performance to the classic MA-1.
Details from both brands appear throughout, including ALPHA's original reversible-compatible metal zip, the utility pocket on the sleeve that symbolizes the MA-1, metal zips, and original parts.
