GENUINS (ジェニュインズ), an ethical footwear brand from Spain operated by Boardriders Japan LLC (ボードライダーズジャパン合同会社), will release new clog sandals for the 2026 fall and winter season from late October 2026. The new models draw on the designs of mountain boots, moccasins and loafers.
They will be sold at the GENUINS official site, Boardriders Japan directly operated stores, and GENUINS retailers across Japan.
A Fall and Winter Lineup of Closed-Toe Clogs
This season, the lineup includes a wide range of closed-toe models that are easy to work into autumn outfits. The materials and colors are warm ones that suit fall and winter looks, including smooth velour leather and nubuck, oiled leather whose texture changes the more it is worn, and vintage-look leather.
The clogs keep the lightness and easy on-and-off of sandals while fitting chic fall and winter coordination. The collection is presented as a fresh fall and winter style that combines the warmth of leather shoes with the light feel of clogs.
All of the models use GENUINS's original multilayer footbed, made of natural cork and foam and designed based on the structure of the foot. It spreads the pressure on the foot to improve stability and cushioning, giving a soft and comfortable fit from the moment the foot goes in.
GENUINS actively uses environmentally considerate materials, such as natural Spanish cork harvested from the bark without felling trees, rubber, leather from tanneries with LWG (Note 1) Gold certification, and recycled materials. Products are made at its own factory in Spain.
Product packaging uses 100% recycled cardboard and paper, along with low-impact inks. GENUINS also takes part in a wide range of ethical initiatives, from manufacturing to the protection of the natural environment, including safe and healthy working conditions, the use of renewable energy, and Amazon rainforest conservation.

A penny-loafer-style mule sandal in which smooth nubuck leather gives an elegant look to the feet. The upper uses richly textured LWG (Note 1) Gold-certified natural leather, and a strap with cut-out details across the instep adds a classic touch. A cork footbed that fits the sole and a shark sole with excellent grip support comfortable walking. The GENUINS logo on the heel is an accent. GENUINS's Original Multilayer Footbed
- Anatomy and comfort: The footbed, designed based on the structure of the foot, is used in GENUINS's main products. It is excellent in terms of foot health, comfort and ergonomics, and offers ease of walking and a comfortable fit.
- Lightness and flexibility: The harmonious combination of natural cork and natural rubber foam is a key point of the footbed. The rubber provides flexibility and shock absorption, while the cork works as excellent insulation.
- Sustainability: The cork used in the footbed is harvested from the bark of cork oaks without harming the trees, and it is a reusable material. Jute is also an easy-to-grow, highly sustainable natural fiber.
- Durability: Carefully selected high-quality materials and traditional Spanish manufacturing techniques extend the life of the insole and increase the durability of the sandals.
GENUINS's Environmental Initiatives
GENUINS actively uses materials that are considerate of the natural environment, carries out initiatives that take various environmental aspects of its products into account, and produces in its own factory in Elche, Spain.
Considerate Materials and Packaging
Main materials used
- PET felt: A 100% recycled PET bottle material made from plastic bottles collected from the sea.
- Natural cork and rubber: The cork is extracted from cork oaks in managed Spanish dehesas (pastureland), and the rubber is made by natural methods; both are 100% natural materials. Everything is recycled and reused so that no waste is produced.
- Leather: Only leather sourced through suppliers that belong to the LWG (Leather Working Group) (Note 1) with Gold status is used, and appropriate animal protection practices are observed.
- 80% animal-free: 80% of GENUINS's materials do not use animal-derived materials.
- PETA-certified materials: The vegan materials used have received PETA certification from the American animal welfare organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, as proof that they contain no animal-derived materials or ingredients.
- Recycled polyester: Recycled polyester is used, which cuts CO2 emissions to one-third compared with polyester made by conventional methods.
- Chrome-free and solvent-free: GENUINS footwear contains no harmful chemicals, and the adhesives are water-based and solvent-free. GENUINS also partners with suppliers that meet the conditions of the MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List).
- Sustainable packaging: Product packaging is part of quality assurance and of the product experience, but GENUINS recognizes that it can generate waste. For this reason, it keeps the use of ink (eco-friendly ink) to a minimum and makes its packaging from 100% recycled cardboard and paper.

Investment in Renewable Energy
Thanks to solar panels installed at its own production plant, 68% of the energy used to make GENUINS products is now renewable.
Amazon Rainforest Conservation
Together with the NGO Oxizonia, GENUINS works on an Amazon rainforest conservation project that aims to stop the spread of illegal mining, poaching and illegal logging. Buying GENUINS products contributes to forest regeneration in a protected reserve in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest (オキシゾニア・レックス保護区).
