Goto no Tsubaki (五島の椿), the natural skincare brand built on camellias from Nagasaki's Goto Islands, is adding a Camellia Cleansing Oil (椿のクレンジングオイル, 110mL, ¥1,980 tax included) to its lineup starting September 1, 2026 (Tuesday).
The new cleansing oil is designed to lift away everything from blackheads in adult pores to makeup that won't easily come off in one smooth motion, while still leaving skin feeling moisturized after washing.
At its core is a newly developed ingredient, Camellia Leaf Oil (ツバキ葉オイル), which blends quickly into sebum and makeup to lift dirt away. It's paired with Camellia Leaf Water (ツバキ葉水) in what the brand calls its Camellia Cleansing formula (椿クレンジング): on contact with water, the oil carrying the lifted dirt is quickly emulsified into particles about 1/50th their original size, so that loosened grime is caught and rinsed cleanly from deep in the pores.
The formula also includes camellia yeast extract, which contains 17 kinds of amino acids, so the oil clears away dirt while still keeping skin moisturized once rinsed off.
