Eko iXima's First Solo Exhibition "Hatsune Miku and Eko iXima Mixed Media Exhibition" Opens at Ikebukuro PARCO

The "Hatsune Miku and Eko iXima Mixed Media Exhibition" opened on Saturday, August 22, at PARCO FACTORY (7th floor of Ikebukuro PARCO's main building).

The exhibition marks the first solo show by Eko iXima, an artist who has created numerous illustrations for Hatsune Miku and Piapro Characters packaging and collaborations.

Photos below show the venue, where iXima designed the exhibition space himself.

Inside the Exhibition

The exhibition space designed by iXima consists of five rooms in total.

Visitors can step into the world of the artwork, in a space where the line between digital and analog blurs, offering a sense of moving just a little closer to Hatsune Miku and the other characters.

The first room, "Mixed Media Prehistory," displays Hatsune Miku-related illustrations iXima has created over the years, along with valuable products developed from his artwork.

The next room is themed around "Mixed Media," also the exhibition's main visual. Digitally drawn illustrations are output three-dimensionally and arranged throughout the space, creating an installation that makes visitors feel as if they have stepped into a painting.

The exhibition continues with Room 3, "Mixed Media B-Side," and Room 4, "Magical Idol," both built around illustrations newly drawn for this exhibition.

A highlight is the mixed media works displayed in "Magical Idol," where iXima hand-drew each expression individually and added background collages matching each piece's world.

The exhibition area closes with "Other Works," featuring nostalgic illustrations from the past rendered through a variety of printing techniques, among many other carefully crafted pieces on display throughout the exhibition.
