HOSHiN ENGi Re:surrection (封神演義 逆命承天), a new roguelite action game marking the 30th anniversary of the manga Hoshin Engi, is heading to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Steam in 2027, courtesy of Shueisha Games (headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo).
Original creator Ryu Fujisaki has also shared a comment about the project — read on for his message.

A Roguelite Action Game Starring a New Protagonist Illustrated by Ryu Fujisaki
Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, the Chinese mythology fantasy Hoshin Engi has sold more than 22 million copies. Now, a project celebrating the manga's 30th anniversary is taking shape.
Players take control of a character newly illustrated by original creator Ryu Fujisaki exclusively for the game, racing through the story that continues after the manga's ending — a brand-new roguelite action title from Shueisha Games.
Players take on the role of the new protagonist, a disciple of Taikobo, and face a fresh threat baring its fangs at the world.
Players can deepen their bonds with familiar characters from the original manga, such as Taikobo and 楊戩, while freely combining a wide variety of 宝貝 to build their own fighting style, taking on the dungeons together with their spirit-beast partner.
With visuals that make it feel as though the pages of the manga have come to life, the game offers exhilarating action and deep strategy that players can enjoy again and again.

Players build around a Main 宝貝 for their core attacks, and a Sub 宝貝 to shift the tide of battle.
Players can freely combine the wide variety of 宝貝 on offer to craft the ideal fighting style for any situation.
Strengthening 宝貝 can unleash powerful evolved attacks, letting players make full use of a variety of 宝貝 to push deeper into the dungeons.
Players can further power up the protagonists with 極意 learned randomly during their adventure, and with materials gathered along the way and brought back to their home base.
