Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura, just a 2-minute walk from JR Kamakura Station East Exit, will begin selling a set of five original postcards starting May 20, 2026 (Wednesday). The postcards were previously offered as in-room amenities, and the set is now available for purchase following requests from guests who wanted to take home the full seasonal collection or give them as gifts.
About the Postcard Set
The designs were created by Kamakura-based illustrator Horiharu, whose work captures the scenery of the ancient city through soft, hand-drawn lines. The illustrations bring together the landmarks of Kamakura and the memories of time spent there — from the ginkgo trees framing the hotel's windows to the shifting scenery of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

The five-card set includes four seasonal designs and one special card featuring Kamakura's famous sights. Since the hotel's opening, the postcards have been used by guests as travel mementos and as a way to send a note to someone special.
