Hotel New Grand (located at 10 Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama; General Manager: Hirofumi Kiso) will launch a new "Matcha Bavarois" at their directly-operated shop "S.Weil by HOTEL NEW GRAND Yokohama Takashimaya Store" for a limited period from January 2 (Fri) to April 30 (Thu), 2026.
This limited-time dessert is an arrangement of the popular "S.Weil Bavarois," featuring the rich, slightly bitter flavor of fragrant Uji matcha combined with the smooth texture of bavarois. The dessert is topped with whipped cream, red bean paste, and gold leaf, creating a visually gorgeous presentation. This East-meets-West creation uses Japanese ingredients like matcha and red bean paste, finished with the Western-style bavarois recipe. It's perfect as a takeout reward dessert to enjoy at home, or you can savor it in the store's cafeteria during a shopping break.

About S.Weil by HOTEL NEW GRAND
Sally Weil, the first executive chef of Hotel New Grand, which opened in Yokohama in 1927, brought freedom and innovation to Western cuisine in Japan. He was beloved by many gourmets for his bright, modern French-style cooking. This hotel shop inherits his achievements and techniques as a "gentle orthodox" approach, proposing food and lifestyle that suits the current era. The shop offers a wide variety of products including frozen foods and retort products that allow you to enjoy classic Western cuisine at home, as well as bread and baked goods. Under the S.Weil brand, they offer items such as Mocha Roll, original coffee, brioche, and more. The brand name carries on the legacy of "S.Weil," a famous confectionery shop created by Sally Weil's disciple.
