IKEA Japan is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Japan with a special collaboration featuring the new Pokémon game Pokémon Pokopia. A cloud island called "IKEA Island" will appear within the game, while IKEA stores across Japan will recreate the in-game rooms as real-life walk-through room sets. The campaign, titled "Find a Fun Life with Pokémon at IKEA," runs from April 1 (Wednesday) to May 10 (Sunday), 2026.
IKEA views the home as more than just a place — it aims to make everyday living more comfortable and enjoyable. This collaboration reflects IKEA's belief that a playful home environment supports well-being, sparks creativity, and helps people express their individuality.

The collaboration marks milestones for both brands: Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary, while IKEA Japan is marking 20 years since opening its first store in the country. Both brands share a commitment to connecting people and embracing a sense of playfulness.
Nicholas Johnson, Growth & Marketing Manager at IKEA Japan, commented:
"As a 'partner for life at home,' IKEA supports people in creating homes they love. Guided by our spirit of curiosity and our value of togetherness, we prioritize collaboration with partners to bring more comfortable everyday moments to people across Japan. We believe a playful home environment enhances well-being, stimulates creativity, and nurtures the time to be yourself. We are very excited to share that vision of home life through this special collaboration with Pokémon Pokopia."

Pokémon Room Sets (April 1 – May 10)
In Pokémon Pokopia, players take on the role of a Ditto that has transformed into a human. By learning moves from Pokémon they encounter, players can do more things — from crafting furniture and growing vegetables to cooking and building a home — while enjoying a laid-back life with Pokémon in a cozy town. Mirroring this, IKEA offers inspiration and solutions to help people create spaces that reflect their own personalities in real life.
The cloud island "IKEA Island" will appear in Pokémon Pokopia. Players can visit it by entering an address in the game's "Virtual Mode" — the address code can be found at IKEA stores. The island features two special rooms designed by IKEA interior designers inspired by Pikachu and Snorlax.

These in-game rooms are also recreated in IKEA stores across Japan, so visitors can experience them in person. Each room set also comes with the in-game code to visit "IKEA Island" in Pokémon Pokopia, making it possible to enjoy both the physical and virtual spaces.
Pikachu-Inspired Room Set
Inspired by Pikachu's expressive, energetic character, this room set centers on IKEA's kids' product line combined with items featuring Swedish-style mushroom and leaf motifs to evoke a deep forest atmosphere. The open layout incorporates elements of socializing, rest, creativity, and play.

Snorlax-Inspired Room Set
Drawing inspiration from Snorlax's relaxed, easygoing nature, a comfortable sleeping area takes center stage, with a dining table placed right beside the bed. A floor-to-ceiling storage system accommodates both everyday items and food storage. Soft blue and white tones create the feeling of floating on a cloud.

Note: The "IKEA Island" in Pokémon Pokopia can be visited from April 1 (Wednesday) to June 30 (Tuesday) only. Each store carries one or both room set types (Pikachu and/or Snorlax). Photography of the room sets is permitted, though visitors are asked to be considerate of others during busy periods.
In-Store Activities (April 18 – May 10)
Pokémon Pokopia Stamp Rally
A stamp rally inspired by Pokémon Pokopia will run inside IKEA stores. At each stamp rally station, visitors can search for Pokémon from the game alongside IKEA trivia. Stamp rally sheets can be taken home as keepsakes.

Stamp rally sheets are available at store entrances (one per person). There are 7 stamps in total to collect throughout the store.
